Flip it over. You should be able to see the / a stem. Otherwise it's a leaverite. Don't fret! looking for flakes & pickers makes your eyes go weird!

I see a mushroom, but I know nothing about fossils (or mushrooms).

I looked up fossilized mushrooms and your item does resemble what is being shown.

There is nothing on the back. Youre not kidding. Looking for gold does make your eyes go weird!

Giving a size for reference would help. The center does look similar to a cronoid stem.
