Petrified Wood

Here are some pieces of petrified wood from back when I lived in Alabama. These came from quarries where they were surface mining for coal.

There is a wood that has dimples like that, but I cannot remember the name of it. The roots have the round dimples & the bark has diamond shaped dimples.
