Hello good people
My name is Stephen and Iam a British American currently living in the Philippines. The area that I live there are hundreds of caves many of which were occupied by Japanese soldiers during world war ii.In and around many of the caves I have found hundreds of extremely rare and unique rocks with faces which Iam sure would be highly sought after by collectors of rocks. Many of these rocks are freakish and include Aliens,Ghosts,Skulls,Pirates,Birds,Fish etc etc
These rocks are either natural or handworked possibly by the Japanese soldiers during world war II
The pictures are not good quality, very basic but will give you an idea
Any info you can give me I would be very grateful
Thank you and God bless you

I'm just seeing natural stones . . . but classic examples of pareidolia.

Humans are hard-coded to read expressions in faces and look for "danger" in everyday objects - like the faces of predators and enemies. Those primates that did lived and bred - so it is passed on. It's very natural to "see" symmetry and identifiable features in natural and random patterns.

Rocks like yours even have a recognized scientific name: "mimetoliths"
