Bone Identification tips

I was recently doing some creek sifting and I found an animal bone that I’m interested in identifying/figuring out the time period it came from. I’m not sure if it’s prehistoric or if it’s a couple of years old.I usually stick to metal detecting so I don’t really have any knowledge on identifying or dating remains. It would be much appreciated if someone could help me out.

Are you looking for arrowheads? What else are you finding? Make lots of pics plz

It feels hollow so I think you’re right. Yes I’m looking specifically for arrowheads and stone tools, so far no luck.
I did find these objects that I think might be pottery shards but I’m not positive:

Super light weight, but fossilized , I would say it is a bird of some type.
Can you take a close up pic of the " edge " of the bottom piece & tell us how thick it is ?
