Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!

Holt, maybe the best place to get started would be the local
library.

Must be some books on the history of your area, and maybe
even a map showing where the trappers would rendezvous
each year.

Check out the book Firearms, traps and tools of the Mountainmen. It’s a great resource. Also cheek out the Museum of the Fur Trade and the Museum of the Mountain Man. One is in Charon , NE and the other in Pinedale, WY. Both Museums have a book section and publish research journals.
