how to know when you've "offically" hit the hyper infllation stage --when its cheaper to use dollar bills for toliet paper than it is use them to buy toliet paper -- your there.

which the way things are going will not be too long sadly.

Like 50 sheets of toilet paper are any more useful than one. Doh!

I think we are there already .....

We've been there before.

In 1778, then Gen. George Washington complained that, "It takes a wagon load of money to pay for a wagon load of supplies." Two years later, 40 Continental dollar notes were worth only one silver dollar.

if theres 50 uses on a roll of toliet paper -- vs 1 per a dollar --when toliet paper hits $50 + a roll --guess what's cheaper to use ? --- in hyper nflation things became crazy --normal everday items become crazily over priced due to the over printed money basically becoming "worthless" --taking more and more money to buy the same item from one day to the next --in some cases in the old german republic back in the 20's --- prices would change every hour -- very many times in a day--- the few merchants that actually had stuff vastly over priced their items since they had to make a "profiet" on the trade and still later on "restock" their shelves as well at the new higher prices ) --they werre printing million and multi million mark bank notes ***

just think of taking a wheelbarrow full of money to the store to buy a days worth of food.

Have you bought toilet paper lately ? Costs more than a dollar. Has for some time now. So I am going to use todays date.

OK very true about the cost of toilet paper-

My question should have read --

When will the $1 US be worth the same as a sheet of toilet paper?

Example:

A 6 pack of Scott Tissue (one-ply) with 1000 sheets per roll cost $8.49

so $8.49 divided by 6 = $1.415 per roll

then divide that by 1000 sheets = $ .001415

So when will a $1 US be worth the same as 1 sheet of toilet paper($.001415)?

Correct answer wins the $50 US Bill- and yes I will send u 50 $1 US bills if so desired. ;D

if that occurs you will not be able to mail squat -- the govt and all social services (post office--police--firemen --ect) will be gone . nice ideal though.

This is a trick question as we have already passed that date.

August 15, 1971.

The other day I bought a troy ounce slver coin for $5. It was tarnished but that didn't change the fact that I could buy 17.30 worth of silver for $5.

If you can buy $17.00 worth of silver for 5 bucks, you know someone was in dire straits for some reason or another.

Which means it served its purpose exactly - it got someone something that he didn't have money to pay with.

Silver and gold - always has a value, no matter what the price is on the market.
