Here's another Vintage Audio Item to look for:

"Reel" Cassettes... They are just clear cassette tapes with little metal reels inside that make them look like a reel to reel deck (RTR decks also sell VERY well, but that is for another thread).

You can consistently get $25.00 each for old USED cassette tapes. I have sold 4 of these so far - all had stuff recorded on them. Three went for $25 a piece and one went for nearly $60.00. There is a huge collectors market for these - especially in Russia. Teac and Akai are a few of the brands to look for.

Here are some completed listings for the Teac brand reel cassettes:

http://completed.shop.ebay.com/Audi...ank_Media&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283&_rdc=1

So remember, be sure to check those old "worthless" cassette boxes at all your thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales. You can turn fifty cents into fifty dollars easily.

What's a record?

An ancient form of superior audio that was killed by a bunch of ones and zeroes known as CD's and MP3's. They were large discs wrapped in cool artwork.

Those are probably multi track (4 track) cassettes, used on multi track recorders.

My last 8 track was a Quad.

Was awsome when the sound circled you
Or if you just turned one speaker on
& only heard lead, drums, Base or Voice

They made special ones just for recording on studio recorders. I've had 3 studio recorders - One reel to reel 8 track; one cassette 4 track; one hard drive 8 track.

As long as they're valuable, right?

KK- do you still have your reel to reel deck? It wasn't a Technics or Pioneer by any chance? The two models below are worth some serious change.

Re: Here's another Vintage Audio Item to look for:

I just bought a Muntz 8 track last saturday with over 20 tapes $4

The player is in home style not for the car. All the tapes look to be from the late 60s to early 70s. The player needs a drive belt. I took it simi-apart and found a disintegrated rubber/cork looking belt.

Any tinkerers out there?
