5.33" x 7.33",

Do you think it it is russian? The seller said it was either Tamar of Georgia or Princess Anna. But they didnt know anything about it. I googled both the names and I am pretty sure it is neither of the 2.

The 2p50k on the back side apparently means 2 Rubles and 50 Kopeks. (Information found from another piece on-line that is brass, and decidedly Russian).

Take that with a grain of salt.

Any input!

Questions...

1. Are there little tiny loops, or hooks at the top corners, as if it held a chain or hung like a picture? It looks like it from the picture.

2. Is there any chance you can get a clear photo of the maker's mark, next to the 2p50k?

Thanks.

Just doing a bit of tidying up on some older threads, mainly for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

Interesting piece. There's an identical one pictured in this article:

https://dzen.ru/a/XrFgLXZRcSYLFzNS

The accompanying text (in Russian) says:

Dancing girl. The metal stamping was made in the Georgian SSR. There is a very interesting monogram in the upper right corner. I wonder if this is a factory mark or the author's signature? On the reverse side of this metal stamping there used to be an insert made of thick cardboard.

And then goes on to say:

It is interesting to know that at the origins of embossed art in Soviet Georgia was Irakli Ochiauri (1924-2015), a famous Georgian sculptor, painter, master of graphics and embossing, who made a great contribution to the art of Georgia. In 1952-1953, he was the first to create embossed works, which actually laid the foundations for the revival and development of modern Georgian embossing art. His works are characterized by expressive plasticity, intense dynamics, rhythm and decorativeness. Exhibitions of his works in many cities around the world were a great success. In 1971, Irakli Ochiauri was awarded the state prize of the former USSR.

The accompanying mark icluding ‘2P50K’ isn’t mentioned, but it’s the price for the item as “2 Rubles [рубли] and 50 Kopecks [копейки]. The state pretty much dictated the price for everything in the former USSR and It was common for luxury goods to be price-marked as a way of controlling the inflation that Soviet economy in the post-war era. These marks are also commonly seen on Soviet porcelain.
