Bought this ring the other day, it appears to be a custom engraved ring from 1893 with a hallmark I've never seen before. It is 18K at 13.2 grams. I've had an offer of nearly 3x melt, I'm just wondering what makes it so valuable. Thanks.

My precious! Take the money and run. Offers can be feast or famine, never know when the next one will come

Maybe try googling the name inscribed, it could be a very popular name of a historic figure.

1893 was the year of the Columbian Exposition, Chicago Worlds Fair. Could it have a connection there somehow? Many items from the White City can be very valuable.

Not sure on that hallmark. Kind of looks Russian or some European mark and maybe some makers mark of a jeweler?. That is a very cool find. The engraving is so wonderful on those old pieces. It's something that very few people could today with that level of detail. I think the high value is it's a true piece of antique estate jewelry. The workmanship is just wonderful. I'd hang on to that.

Assuming it is some high end brand I don't see a plain wedding band being worth a lot more than 3x melt. Take the money.
