I stopped at an estate sale today I got to talking with the guy there and he said he threw whole bunch of stuff in the dumpster. His son came over there drunk and throwing stuff away and I had no idea what it was in there. I asked him if I could go look in the dumpster and he said sure but if you find anything don't show me I don't want to see what you find!! So I got some old pilot hats. Which I will post later but this right here made my day.

The acid test is positive for 14 karat gold the 14 karat gold came off this....

Now I'm taking suggestions on how to get it off? Thinking about taking it to my jeweler and having him melted off maybe we'll see... I have more pictures to come of the other stuff I found later. Got to try to figure out how to get the gold off before my kids come home from school because they have four days off I won't be a will have time to mess with it!!

Hi Beachkid 23; Answer is simple. Use a hammer. It won't hurt the gold and who cares about rotten teeth ok. Sometimes the answers are easier than we think ok. PEACE:RONB

My dad was talking with them. They were originally from Germany then moved here.... Who knows where they are from though.

The thought of hammering teeth makes my mouth hurt! This seems a bit disturbing, but gold is gold I guess.

Nice stuff. Gold is gold no matter where you find it! I like everything wkse too. The hats are US Army dress hats, probably Korean or Vietnam era. That ladies retractable pen/pencil? is gold filled isn't it? Is that an Egyptian motif of the cigarette holder or Aztec?

I seem to remember hearing that gold crowns are 50% Gold - normally.

Anybody know for sure?

I just looked at one website that said 20% to 80%. Another said 66%

They test for 14k. But not 18k. So 14 would make them 50% gold right? I'm thinking anyways.
