Went back to the sale I was at yesterday. She is a wine lover and had a lot of wine. I managed to get 14 bottles of chardonnay and one bottle of port for $70. The wine is already sold to a friend. I then got the Audi A6 front headlight assembly. Its new, she bought if for her car then never used it. She said she paid $250 for it.
She sold it to me for $20. She liked me we got along and it helped when 90 percent of the stuff she was giving away. I asked about the wine rack and she said take it you already spent $90. Thank you. And then she told me if I wanted any wine glasses take them because if nobody takes them they are going in the dumpster when it comes tomorrow. I grabbed two of them. Price tag on each is $67.50. Nice.

Great stuff, I like the glasses! Did you leave your number to have her call so you could help clean up the left overs from the sale? LOL

The absolutely finest beverage I ever consumed came out of an estate sale. I dug it out from inside a 80's era TV stand. It was left upright, so the cork dried out. It was Porto - that is real port from Portugal. It was maybe 40 years old when I opened it, of course I poured it over ice, and I didn't decant it, so old cork floated on top and black flakes of sediment swirled below. I don't care what anyone says about how you're supposed to drink wine, it was heavenly. It moved me like music. I really wanted to find that flavor again, and spent a couple of hundred $ trying. I did not succeed.

Damn you are good. I looked for a bit and gave up. Im thinking about listing them, do you think $40 per glass is asking too much?

Sometimes old liquor bought at sales is the best liquor. I was visiting family last year and we got onto the subject of scotch. Many of the older relatives like it and at the same time were upset because some other, younger, relative found the scotch stash at the beach house and drank it all

The next day I ended up in a dark basement and found myself looking a a rather large collection of moldy scotch bottles that had the old tax stamp labels affixed to them. Some of the bottles were already aged 25 years so another 40 couldn't hurt.

It turned out to be some of the best scotch they dad ever had

I've bought liquor at sales before and I don't even drink. Traded a bottle of Glenfiddich for a silver round recently. Some may say the guy that got the Scotch got the better end of the deal but that's okay. He's happy and so was I.

Now, what to do with the bottles of Cognac I bought a few weeks ago... not to mention the bottle of Funny Cide wine in the bottom of the fridge, if only he had won the triple crown, lol.
