Why sort of? Looks like gold to me! Bought a 1/10th oz with a 14k bezel and thin 14k chain at an estate auction several months back. How much did it run you?

score! Do not scrap it. You should be able to flip it for more than melt on Ebay

Do it! I had the biggest coin find of my life at a yard sale. Although I spent $3200 to get it. I ask about every single one unless there is some guy out there who looks all ticked off and I don't bother. Then a lot of them say they have them but they don't know what they're worth and I tell them if you want I can tell you what they're worth just so you have an idea I won't even offer to buy them unless you're willing to sell them. Boom!! come on in! :)

It's difficult to tell from your photos- us that a moderm US minted gold eagle? Full 1toz? Or a fractional? If real it's a steal at any size. But there are lots of gold plated "replica" coins out there, too so check both size and weight.

"My precious"... Ha-Ha-Ha! That's a good one. I tell you what, if I had found a real U.S. gold coin for twenty dollars, it would be "My precious" too.
Great going.

Sorry I look at the photo of the back and see that it is very blurry. It is a pendant. It's marked 1/10 oz pure gold. It is a little smaller than a quarter

That is a THICK necklace, lots of gold value in it as well. Cant believe you got it at that price. I recently bought the same 1/10th oz gold eagle in a 14k bezel on a thin 14k chain, paid $120 for it and was very happy at that price. You did EXCELLENT!
