Today's Goodies - 14K Cufflinks and 2X 14K Earrings

Unfortunately the pin isn't testing at 10K, though it was a very slow change, so perhaps 9K or gold fill at the very least ($4). Marked SAMCO on the clasp.

Fortunately, the cufflinks test for at least 14K ($6) - 12.2 g.

MAYBE, they aren't cufflinks at all....

Both the heart earrings and the pearl earrings are marked 14K (2 x $3).

TOTAL 14.0 grams of 14K!!! Wow you find some amazing deals! Very nice cufflinks, any makers mark?

No marks on these at all. It's a real shame. I'll do a bit more research before deciding if I will list them on eBay or sell them to a local pawn/jewelry shop. I'll keep the pin for myself. I've got a bit of a pin obsession.

That pin has the right "look" to it for being gold. It has a stone in it, have you tested that? Great buys!!

I just use a cheap $15 one I bought on eBay (new). It works perfect for diamonds. I know there are way more expensive ones you could get but I make due with the "el-cheap-o" one.

Cheap is fine by me as long as it works. Does it differentiate other fine gems as well, or just diamonds?

Just diamonds but it will read high for rubies and sapphires as well but really only accurate for diamonds.

Not sure what those things are? I can't see them as cufflinks and they look Victorian era, by design, plus that black motif, which I think is enamel, leads me to think these are vintage mourning jewelry pieces of some kind? ( Antique Mourning Jewelry - Collector Information | Collectors Weekly ). I've been hitting my local thrift stores for years now and they always seem to produce some nice finds over time. Frequent visits is all you need to be the first one to spot that treasure that was just set out. Great finds :)

That's interesting. I'm thinking a doll collector would sure like to have those?

I just wish I had the Victorian doll to use as a prop to make the pictures look better. I have them listed at 75% of current scrap. I'm hoping they go fast. Initially I put them as a 1-day auction but decided to switch to a 7-day for fear that enough ppl wouldn't see them.
