I had no idea these toys were made in 1964. I saw the box and I thought that looks pretty old. I grew up with them in the 80s and I opened it up and said man this thing looks horrible! I asked how much it was and the guy said $25 and I said for this? And showed him the inside of it and he said never mind. I never opened it you can have it for a dollar! So with that said he's not in the best of shape but he might be a parts toy.. I was sold from the box though! And I wanted to share because I've never seen one of these before! I have not even attempted to try to put it back together yet that might happen I'm just not sure if it's easy to do or not yet. image-2403782625.jpg image-2549630415.jpg image-2672437513.jpg image-1944884438.jpg image-2128965583.jpg image-1693143965.jpg image-2888337125.jpg image-2394596582.jpg Sorry about the last picture I couldn't resist plus that's where the information is. The jet pack or whatever it is dated Mattel 1966 I have no idea what it's for. And it is a tangled mess!

Edit: it's missing a forearm and shoe.

Nice buy! The jet pack is for major matt mason and is worth a little money too. The box is a Triple Tm and is one of the early issues. The dog tag will sell on its own, and the joe will be a parts piece. I suggest you split it up to try and get the most money!

Thanks! $25 is worth untangling it! I'll get my 9 yr old to do it for $2. Them half dollars go far with little ones! The guy said the toy was his fathers and he thought he had more but they couldn't find them in the house. I left my number, I saw some sold for big bucks! Thank you very much for your help!

Sell the G.I. Joe and the box separately. You should get more that way.

I did 3 separate listings the box, soldier and the clothing. All starting at .99 cents. Hope I get my $4 back!

Good luck, I'm interested to see how those do. I will be one of your watchers before the week is up. I never find old GI Joe's only the remakes.

edit- box is already over $61, nice.

Yep, all I find are the 3 3/4 inch GI Joes and vehicles from the 80's, but they will do ok in lots. I am finding some of the accessories for the larger GI Joes and they do ok also.

For grins, look up the GI Joe aircraft carrier on ebay.

This what is so great about this forum. I never thought about G I Joes because they were always so beat up or there of tons of them. Yesterday I was at a TS and saw a bag of Barbies and a bag of Joes. I thought about this thread and thought why not. Well it turned the barbies were a bust (but now I know what to look for). The Joes were the 1964 ones. There were four in the bag. DSC03566.JPG

Hats off to you Beachkid for posting and the education.

Well I had the first one missing parts like you have right there and it sold for $65. I would go back and see if there was a bag with clothes in it. But if not auction them things at $.99 with about 10 minutes in between each one of them I did five dollar shipping on each one. you have a least $200. Say in the end of your listing that this is one of four you have also so they know to check your site for the other ones. I had over 220 views on mine by the end of the auction for a week.

Good idea on the way to list them. I should have reviewed this thread first. Anyway I listed as a lot of 4 and have a bid of 28.77 and 12 watching. Listed them yesterday afternoon. As far as the clothes I will list them separate. Had to give them a good washing in cold water to get the dirt off of them. The clothes are: 1. USMA Hat, Jacket, and pants 2. Orange overall/jumpsuit 3. Camo uniform however the shirt and pants pattern do not match. The forth one has taped up shorts for diving. Did have the fins and snorkel. The Orange jumpsuit still looks dirty so these may go cheap?

Mine were faded and still sold for $25 just one outfit with the dog tag so I have no idea I'm not an expert on these by any means. I found a box at the yard sale someone suggested to separate it and I sold it. If you have the actual clothes and go on them though... I guess who knows if they would've done better or not.

My daughter was upset she could not play with my Barbie doll though. LOL. She's 3! Our thrift store sale is tomorrow so they put everything out today that they have. I'm going to shoot down there today around 3 clock to start looking at the naked Barbie dolls. Lol.

I found them and I'm watching them. And I'm buying your auburn clock. Well I bid it up to $24. I have a place for that to go!

I would end it and put the one on with the scuba gear and sell that one I bet that would go high. Email the high bidder and say you made an error. Put some clothes on that man and dress them up and sell him with the scuba gear that one looks like it be pretty popular.

One of my best ever Ebay sales was an orginal GI Joe. Bought for $3 at a flea market. Came with a frogman suit, rubber raft, scuba tank, etc. Sold for $185 and Joe had broken feet.
