Did they say and write on it the doll it was an American Girl? Shouldn't have you looked at the back first before you bought it?? My girls ordered those dolls and we even visited the American Girl place in Chicago years ago. They were all into those things. I think I either packed them away or tossed them in the garbage after they moved out? Dang! now I'm finding out they could be worth something. There could be a hundred Madam Alexander dolls packed away in my garage also? They had a lot of those too.

American Girl Dolls are gold. I bought a nice one a few months ago for $7. Sold it for $60 or $70. You won't find any American Girl Doll under $40 (those are the bitty baby ones). The Madame Alexander dolls are not as good, but can be nice. You would have been better off keeping the AG dolls (especially because they are retired).
