Stopped in at an estate sale yesterday. Found this Baylor Swiss 14K with diamond watch. They priced at $125 but gave 50% off so it's a $62.50 watch. Not exactly cheap but we are still learning items outside of coins and took a chance on this watch.

A local pawn shop was willing to offer $100 for the gold weight as he had no interest in he watch itself. Diamonds tested real as did the gold. It has a rope band with gold filled clasp. That's a nice watch and a great find. Nothing better than gold and diamonds

Nice find at a decent price. I'm surprised a pawn shop offered that much. What does it weigh?

5.5 grams outside of case and 11.1 g with case and rope band. I don't know how to get the exact weight without taking band off.

The gold weight would be the case only. You have to subtract the movement, the band, crystal, and the diamonds.

Perhaps he knows as much as I do? Thanks for the info.

I'd take the $100 quickly! These watches almost always get scrapped nowadays which could be a reason to keep it? Definitely not $100 worth of gold though and plus the brand doesn't bring any extra value...
