Cannon and Ball & Chain

Haven't posted in a long time. We bought the cannon last summer. It is made of oak and the barrel is PVC. It is about 10' long and looks great in our yard. Got the ball & chain last week at an estate sale in Alpena Mi. There was so much stuff it was a mad house! You had to be fast or stuff was gone! I don't think that this item is real, but it does weigh 55 pounds. I had to have it.

They had one ball and chain like it on the antiques roadshow and they were saying how many Indian made fakes are out there. They artificially age them. If it is real then it is quite valuable.

Look at the chain links and you can see the collar where they were fused, sorry modern chain but neat to have.

A guy in a neighboring county had a cannon in his yard for years. It looked like the Cannon was old sewer pipe. He had built it very realistic. He had it pointed so that you came around a curve going by his house, it was pointed straight in your windshield. It is an old house, so it looked even better. I think the idea is very neat. Ima
