Chinese Export Silver and Sterling

I hit an estate sale and was the last person in. While waiting to get in I heard someone inside say the Sterling had already been purchased. I didn't expect much but was amazed what was missed. The first thing I saw was this Chinese export 900 silver salt dish and spoon from Wang Hing Company for four dollars.


I then saw the sterling silver corn holders for six bucks.
In another room I saw three sterling silver bowl in sterling silver and glass plate/coasters for a few dollars each.
I also managed to find this Kirk and sons sterling silver serving pieces very heavy!




I also got a weighted pie server.
Overall I scored 212 g of sterling silver and 53 g of 900. It was a great day!

That is the first time I saw something marked 925/1000. I bet that is why they missed it. The bowl had Reproduction on it so that is why they missed it. The others were hard to find marks or, like the Export mark, different.

Maybe they had an area that was marked silver and everybody flocked there. All this was might have been in another area with the owners saying that is not silver and the fools believed it.

At my very first yardsale and my very first silver purchase the lady at a "professional" estate sale saw me looking at spoons and she told me (without me even asking) those are not silver. I knew absolutely nothing about gold or silver from yard sales. (I knew silver coins because I metal detected) I bought it anyway and it was silver and the rest is history. I even wrote a book on buying gold/silver at yard sales. "Follow the Signs & Stop for Gold" (yes, blatant plug)
