A couple months ago i found this at goodwill. Must have just put it out, got lucky. This is an original 1918 belt with the cup for use as "walking fire", i sold it. It was stamped 5-1918 and so nice i thought it was a repop at first. 100_1757.jpg 100_1758.jpg 100_1759.jpg 100_1760.jpg 100_1762.jpg

Here's a better pic of the butt cup. My old Kodak is living in the past, dates are always wrong. 100_1761.jpg

I'm not into field gear but that was a no brainer and it's no wonder you thought it was a repop at first. Beautiful original condition! Great find.

A little note.. When WW2 started the BAR was still standard issue. Much of the left over WW1 surplus equipment was still around including BAR belts, which were re-issued but in modified form. The butt-cup and .45 mag pouch were usually deleted and replaced instead with a pair or regular magazine pouches which increased the available load to 12x30 round magazines. These modified belts can be identified by their mis-matched pockets and wide WW1 belt fasteners.

I filled it with saiga 12 mags and took it to the range. Got some very strange looks while firing 12 gauge AK from the hip, very fun.

Another Saiga fan! I have one of the original 12-C's that came in during the AW ban. Love it.
