It’s been slow around here but I finally got a nice watch at a sale the only problem I’m having is I looked in my watch book and the brand is not listed there when I search it on the Internet it brings up the company but mainly you find the coin watch $20 gold piece which goes for around 6000 I’ve been trying to find a price on this one with no luck anyone have older or newer watch books that may have it listed in there

I've never heard of the brand, but it's beautiful, and 18k? High end for sure. Congratulations! It's simple, minimalist, and elegant! a real winner! Amazing score!

Cheech, Eska is a brand that was made by Sylvan Kocher & Co. of Switzerland. The brand comes from the French phonetic pronunciation of the founders initials (S and K).

Others can weigh in but I view them as a smaller 2nd tier Swiss watch maker but still a manufacturer of high quality watches. I recently picked up a stainless steel Eska autowinder with a clamshell case from the 40’s that I plan to clean and oil so I can wear it regularly when I feel my skills have reached the required level (I have plenty of cheap movements to practice on first).

Rented Mule nailed it. Worth about the gold weight or a slight premium. Worth more if serviced. Great dress watch.

Heck of a score, but I'm finding no sales history either. I did look at a couple completed Mens 40s, 50s era 18K manual winds that in my opinion kindof compare. One was a Ernest Borel that went for $650. and the other 18K Doxa that sold for $500. I think the odds are good it would sell above the actual gold weight value. 14K men's wristwatches come up for sale fairly frequent, but 18K one's not so much.

There are 2 similar watches that have sold in the past few years on Worthpoint. Neither are a match but both are 18k and both sold for around $1100. One has a gold mesh band and the other has "fancy" large lugs.
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/estate-18k-yellow-gold-eska-fancy-lug-1789048340

The cheapest coin watch sold for $1200 up to $4500.

Thanks still waiting on an email he supposed to send me a quote on getting it fixed I happened to break the crown off of it trying to remove the back so he’s going to give me a price as is and a price after it’s fixed hopefully he’ll get back to me soon

Cheech, is it possible this watch has a split stem crown? If so the crown may not have broken off but simply came apart from the stem as it is meant to.

Here is an example of one:

BALANCE SWING/MOVE? THESE QUESTIONS ARE NOT ANSWERED. WOULD LIKE TO
KNOW. I CANNOT GUESS-TIMATE UNTILL I HAVE WATCH IN MY HANDS TO KNOW-IT
LOOKS FINE BUT DOESIT NEED ANYPARTS I CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO DO TO SORT

CASE NO PROBLEM BEING GOLD I CAN RESTORE NO COST

CRYSTAL 20 BUCKS TOP LINE

STRAP UPGRADE TO SKIN. SNAKE GATOR SOMETHING REALY NICE WITH
DEPLOYMENT BUCKLE 125.00

BELOW DEMONSTRATES THAT RETAIL WOULD BE AT LEAST 1800 TO 2500

I’m not sure how long it takes to do a complete restoration on a watch but my local guy has had it for just a little over a month hopefully I’ll get it back soon
