Hit a sale on Friday at lunch and it already closed but the lady let me in. I picked up this 14 karat gold chain with a gold filled charm and the sterling locket for $12. Can’t believe it was still there. 1g 14kt Gold. On Saturday there were three big community sales. I hit 50+ sales and pickings were slim. First find was a men’s drawer clean out from the 50’s for $5. Mostly cufflinks and pins but my favorites are the barbershop quartet cufflinks along with the Gold Filled barbershop quartet association pin(lower right).
I managed to find a nice grouping of Mexican sterling and turquoise jewelry at one sale for $1 per piece and a nice set of amethyst and marcasite sterling earrings. Only one watch today, a 25j Frey in running condition with rough dial. It has a higher end movement and is a good runner. I also picked up a very nice painting/collage of Rome Italy that I really like for my personal collection. I have to say the yard sale expectations versus reality was a big let down so I hit an antiques shop. They had two 14kt Gold nibbed fountain pens for $15 apiece. One was a Schaefer snorkel and works great with original box. The other is a rare Camel brand. Still trying to figure out how this one works.

So I have been doing some research on the Camel fountain pen and found that it was produced for only three years 1935 through 1938. It appears to be quite rare and in fact I cannot find a single sale on eBay of this brand. There are listings for Dunn’s called Camels but they are not the same company. Apparently this had a ink pellet cartridge that all you needed to do was fill it with water and it would make its own ink and supposedly it lasted a year. Obviously based on the short life of the company did not work. If anyone is interested here’s a little more on it and about the only article I could find on the Internet.

Nice scores. So yours is a model 64 it looks like. I couldn't find that model on Worthpoint. I did see a bunch of the marbled model 15 ones and one black model 15 but no 64's. Sold prices are from $85 to almost $300 on those depending on condition. I have a bunch of pens I need to list someday. I like that turquoise pendant too.

Yes model 64 but with the 14kf nib. Going to list it today. I already listed the Scheaffer and got two bids so far. Started low since it needs servicing to work. The box is a plus. I also listed the pendant too. I put it on sterling silver choker.

I finished cleaning and polishing the watch and crystal. It came out better than I thought. It shows some patina but I was able to clean off some of the rust spots and get the dial looking a little better. It has a great 23j movement. Putting it to bed with my other watches.

Looks like you caught quite an assortment. The gold eagle to the left of the barbershop pin looks to be a Ruptured Duck pin. WW2 vets got these to wear home on their uniforms. Illegal to wear a uniform (then at least) if not in the service but....due to clothing shortages, a vet could wear his uniform after getting out if he had the pin. I don't think they have great value but I still have my Dad's. Good luck.
