Found this chain at a middle school and the clasp on both ends say .925 but on my garrett at gold it was registering at 45-47 the same as gold. Is it possible this is gold just with silver clasps?

Chains read funny on a metal detector. It tries to read each individual link separately. A lot of times it will not register at all or numbers will be way off. I would test it, that's the only way to know for sure. Nice chain!

Thanks for the input! Was just curious because I have heard of a few people taking off clasps and putting on silver ones if the originals are bad!

With my experience of having many of them I think it's definitely silver

Ive found several silver chains from 20 to 35 grams and they all read in the mid 40s.
