I only seen one shield come out of the ground in over twenty years, my bud found it back in 93 at a toc abandoned park in the middle of nowhere.

I found this in the woods where an old rest area use to be for the railroad. I think this nickel is an 1866 or 1867. It has the rays between the stars around the 5. I've always wanted to find one.

I found an 1867 last year in a field but didn't have the rays. Great find not many of those found. image-459599922.jpg not a great pic but it's a shield with no rays. I still have it and it's not in good shape.

Mine is not in good shape either. I'm still very happy to find it. Nickels don't last in the ground.
