Over the years I found two guns, real ones, on a hundred year old site I was detecting. Of course the guns were badly rusted that you couldn't make out the make one was a pistol the other was a shotgun. I wondered who buried them and why, if only they could talk. On the same dig, I found a US Mail lock and mail bag, again everything was rotted and my digger buddy was very excited about the find. Later that day I said to him, that the contents of that bag had to be around there somewhere, his reply was to call my son, who is an excavator so he could bring a machine in. I laughed as I was screwing with him. He still talks about that bag 'til today. You never know what secrets the ground is holding, if only we knew.
