My lower shaft is getting harder and harder to adjust because of the scratches due to sand grit, the detector isnt that old at all, anysuggestions? I had tried a silicone lubricant but it didnt work too well

Take some 600 sand paper to it. It will slide better than new.

These AT Pro's or any detector for that matter aren't really designed to be adjusted all the time. Better to just adjust the length and leave it that way....

I like to keep it in the case while in my truck, maybe i can just start leaving the case on top of the detector........
