Hello all!

I was gifted a AT Pro for Christmas (upgrade from Ace 350) and been reading threads / watching videos about my new machine.

My Ground balance her in SW WA is running 90-93 in clear ground, and I have a concern about the best setting for my silver coin searching.

I have read about lowering the GB 5-10 points to increase sensitivity for coins, but others have noted you lose depth when you mess with the standard numbers - so a bit confused

May I ask what you experiences have been?

Thank you kindly for your thoughts -

I have had an AT Pro for 2 years now, great machine. When I use it I adjust it down about 5 points or so. Seems to make the deeper targets more responsive. I wouldn't adjust it below 85 though. Good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks for the comeback Welgund!

May I ask your average GB for your area?

Happy new year and HH

My at pro usually gb around 75-80. I usually lower 5-10 sometimes i just leave it where it lands. The best way to do it is hunt your site without lowering it. Then lower it 5-20 in 5 increments and then see if you find anything deeper that the regular gb missed. Then youll know for yourself first hand. Gl and hh.

No i also read on another thread that if you notch out everything below 75 or 80 you will hit deep silver. Now i really havent tried that yet. Also run your iron disc up to 35-40. Another guy in that thread said he notched 60 or 65 down that way he would hit indian head pennies. I havent tried these much but i want to give it a try. Gl man i hope you find some deep silver.

Well good luck man i hope it works for ya. I just bought a nel attack coil for my pro. I couldnt find a storm coil. So i hope it goes deep. My yard has fill dirt in it and ive found a few wheaties one 1898 indian head a 46 rosie and a 40 merc. So i know theres good stuff here but i know theres fill dirt. I had dirt brought in around 2005 then 3 years ago i started picking up this hobby lol. Well i hope one of them settings will get you good results. Good luck out there!
