Looking for a childhood memory

when I was a kid the corner grocer had a coin collection taped to his glass counter. I remember a very small silver coin that may have been a 1/2 dime or some odd denomination like 1/2 penny. I remember the face of the coin best....a baby's face with a little curl on his forehead. I have looked for this everywhere but have never found such a thing, nor has anyone I've talked to seen this coin. Can anyone tell me what this was? I'm assuming the coin was U.S. but that may not be. Thanks. francis
