Late 1800s school yard

Now is a private home yard. Found them April 13 and 14 2010. Also found usual trash, pulltabs, nails, alum., foil, but didn't photo the trash. (the 1897 coin is 50 cents.)( gold ring has date Aug/28/23.) Don't know what the curly things are.
