While Gen. MacArthur was a well known Commander it was the soldiers that fought under him that really deserve the respect. As much as my dad had our issues in our lives, I will not ever feel anything but proud on my dad' military service. He served in the Japanese occupation and Korea. He was there from Inchon to the end. Wounded twice* [unreconized by his command] and 13 probible kills. I asked him once why they were only probibles and he said when you put 15 rounds into a man's chest in close quarter combat you don't stop to take his pulse. My dad will always be my most respected warrior.

*shrapnel from artillery or mortar in his beach landing craft to his throat right under his Adam's apple into his trachea and later a bullet entered his chest travelled under his skin histting his breast bone and exiting the other side of his chest. Both times fighting until the battle was over or he was relieved of duty. He is "the" original bad ass and not to be messed with.
