Some time ago, when I first purchased my Garrett Pro Pointer, I asked about the expected battery life. Using the Fisher F75 (standard), I have gone through ~2 1/2 sets of batteries and my Garrett finally gave me a battery warning. I don't leave mine on while hunting, just turn it on and off when needed. I'll probably wear out the on/off button long before anything else goes bad! Not sure how the time would equate to hours for the Garrett, but, I would say at least 10 operating hours. Of course, it is always advisable to have spare batteries available when on a hunt.
