Also, athough not mentioned in the above article and thus not officialy confirmed: Very reliable sources residing in the Bahamas also state that a covert treasure hunting vessel which had removable modular blowers which could be dismantled and hidden in the hold under the engines to avoid being seen by any inspectors and then later reassembled under water for use and which vessel was even painted with slanted white stripes on both sides of the bow to resemble a US Coast Guard cutter to further deceive observers from afar, etc, a million dollar water front house owned by suspect which was said to have been found to be full of years of accumulated treasures and artifacts, astrolabes, etc.. all believed to have been recovered from the south east trail of the Maravillas wreck scatter and even an airplane kept at West End, were also seized or impounded as evidence pending outcome of the investigation.

Seems that with Tinker's removal late last year that yet another personal Bahamas saga has also drawn to a close.

Yes, appears to be same vessel belonging to suspect except they left the blowers off the survey list. Meanwhile, I don't know how it works in the Bahamas but if the story is true, and after any trial and forfeitures procedures, I would imagine that someone should be able to get a good deal on her at any subsequent government auction.

Yes, you will note on the stern photo, (to bad one can not zoom in), what appear to be winch drums sticking up at the corner of each side of the stern transem which, if the case, would be be evidence of a three point hydraulic anchoring system commonly deployed by treasure hunters but which would also be a rather unusal/unlikely feature to encounter on just a pleasure craft. Can not see enough of the bow to tell what is installed up front, though. Any more fotos?

The arrest is bogus and carried out by our lazy greedy bureaucrats who believe that the fruit of our labors/loot are theirs. The laws and attitudes have to change. ALL treasure belongs to "Finders Keepers"...period...with only one caveat and it is "do not destroy or trash the site"! Cache
