    Kid Friendly Place US

    New here, have a good geological background, have never actually been prospecting. I have 2 small kids (8&5) that are super happy to go looking for gold and gems/crystals.

    Anyone know of a good place to go in south western US or eastern seaboard? Kid Friendly? April vaca spot.

    I am located in MA, have some wonderful information on geological.

    You can go to Arkansas and hunt for Diamaonds. Crater of Diamonds State Park.

    jprogriffin, for gems, try finding Herkimer diamonds, in Herkimer NY, not too far from you. Although not diamond, the crystals are gin clear, hard, and valuable. Some sort of clear quartz I think. Check it out.
