Is it safe to use Brasso to clean relics?

It is safe if you want them as shinny as the day they where made, ruin the monetary and historical value. Other than that no.

That's what we used in the military back in the day to polish our brass. Didn't scratch and like said, looks brand new.

Just don't drink it on a dare....just sayin... :wink:

I also used brasso in the Army along with blitz clouth. If you soak a coin in brasso, it will remove the excess crud buildup, but wash it off before attempting to wipe off the surface gently. The shine is from the mild abrasive if rubbed with the brasso on it. I don't know if they make blitz clouth any more. It was a chemical cleaner in a white clouth. Frank
