Metal Detecting
Compare the finds of today with the finds of 10-20 years ago.

Are there MORE? Maybe, some places....but what ARE those finds?
Clad? Some lost rings?

MAYBE if you are lucky a three ringer or MAYBE, just MAYE a Mercury dime at 12 inches?
You see, metal detecting finds are NOT like "fishing",it is not a renewable resource. It has been diminishing year after year. More advanced machines, people who view it as a contest and feel the need to hunt 40 hours a week.
People make the argument,"but detectors are getting deeper to find the stuff." Yeah, but the "stuff" has to be THERE to find.
And now we have television shows making people think they will get rich with a metal detector and a shovel.
Will I quit? No, I will keep searching.

But face it, the glory days are over.
