Hi all, my name is Eric and i'm a newbie metal detectoraholic.

hiiiii Eric.....

Anyway, I purchased A Teknetics Delta 4000 and i'm having a blast with it. I also just purchased a Teknetics Omega 8000, which should be here tomorrow. I should have bought that one in the first place... Oh well.. I'm impatient...

So i've found a whole bunch of coins already, but they are all relatively recent, as in 1980s+. I live in Santa Clarita (Los Angeles County) and I'm trying to figure out the best types of places to go hunt to have a chance at finding old silver coins.

Can someone please give me some pointers?

Much appreciated!

Since you're from So. CA (Los Angeles county), get on the "kinzli" forum. That forum is specific to CA hunters. Several good hunters from So. CA read and post on there. Not too many "relicky" sites, as you can figure, since So. CA is one giant endless landscape of modern sprawl. But old parks, schools, etc... have turf that can be productive for silver.

There are numerous cuts and settler trails through out Santa Clarita area. A simple google search of the likes should yield an abundance of results.
