Ok after reading several posts, I have decided on getting the Garrett Ace 250 detector. I just bought it from Kellyco, and I will have it in 3-4 business days. I cant wait to get out. I have been looking locally but nobody had them in stock. I am gonna sleep all weekend so early next week comes fast. Just like Christmas!! I will let you know when I get it, and take pics of my first hunt.

Good choice for your first one. Read the owner's eval forum for some good tips. Monty

Think Monty means the Garrett section under "Metal Detector Reviews"

Good luck with your ACe 250

Definately a good choice. I use one and it's a good machine. Take your time learning it, it's not the fastest detector to learn, I tell you that from just a little experience. I've had mine for a little over a month now and am still learning its basics. You'll have questions, here you'll find answers. I plan on throwing out a review of the 250 shortly for all the new 250 users and rookies like myself. (2 1/2 months detecting).
