It's you're property go for it! If you live on large property where know one can see you of course the better. But if you're lovely nebs get up @3am too go to the bathroom and look out the window and see a guy swing a MDer (lot may not even know you are MDing) you may bet that you will have the cops called unless they can tell it is u but then everyone will think your a whacko and they will all talk about how you are out in the yard digging things up @3am!

What is that critter?

Idk but he sure was a crazy looking thing. He would have rolled out to be about 4-5 inches long but I wasn't gonna do it. Lol

Hdub, you may grow to like night hunting. Your critter reminds me of the World's Most Giant Northwoods Millipede that is rumored to exist in some of the areas around here, my buddy has seen them lately. I took a pic of this beasty on the shed the other day. This is a big one, the biggest I have seen around here.

Just pretend your detecting in your underwear, the newness will wear off soon. You'll be pulling the detector out everywhere. Oh, and you cant see critters at nite.........where snake bite guards too. If you get into bees or such, have a plan and a bite kit. We have scorpions here, I dont like digging in the daytime.

I have hunted lots in my own yard in all hours of the night and day back when I started I felt odd but soon figured it wasn't my problem to worry about. That was until I felt the presense of danger one morning between 3 and 4am and saw a glimpse of a fleeing animal out of the corner of my eye, and later discovered a mountain lion had been spotted out in my country home area. Besides that...just hunt and forget about the public eye. It is your place afer all. Cool to hunt at that time of the day! martin

Oh that is insane! I can deal with snakes, bugs, other critters and animals but not spiders. You would've seen the detector flying in the air and me booking it back to the house over that one.
