Seriously, I've won awards for my photography, poetry, and writing, but nothing so exciting as the things I"ve seen thus far on this thread. Truly an amazing collection of creative folks. My hat is off to all of you.

Here's a sprocket-ring.

The ring is brass. It was bent up and missing the stone or (whatever). I found a tiny sprocket from a dug up watch.


Kind of Bauhaus. No?

Holy Crap, Montana Jim, you are very skilled in your pen and inks. And your diverse themes are quite striking...from old barns and barrels to skewered heads. YIKES! Ever think about doing some artwork for Stephen Kings' books?

Jim,
You have a great sense of composition. My favorite is the car. Your drawings have a printed feel, like fine woodcuts or etchings. They also have
an animated feel as well, (not static).

I've been a professional Illustrator for over 20 years and take it from me, you have a lot of talent.

Very nice everyone. I use to make furniture and other crafts out of wood. Here is a corner cabinet that I made a few years ago. I have been thinking of getting back into it.

You really hit on a good topic now. I've always loved making & creating this all my life. Some good, and some probably not so good. My great-grandfather was the same way. He was a big collector an was into about everything. Anyways, here's a few of my creations over the years.

1) Sunflower birdhouse. (sorry, bad picture)
2) My "talk is CHEEP" telephone birdhouse.
3) Recipe box I made for my Mom.
4) My Prospector display.
5) The "Bassifier" lure "for those big suckers".
6) My cell phone bumper sticker.
7) Giant pile of fake poo. The neighbors will love you!
8) 45 record mobile.
9) 1960's pinball top table.
10) Slot glass & pinball lights lit up.
11) Gold Nugget slot machine glass light.

A few years back I blew some of the disk out of my neck, earned myself a nice little steel plate and a half dozen screws. Anyway, after a few months of sitting around the house with nothing to do I decided I was going to start painting but I sucked at it. So one day I grabbed a wet cloth and a few acrylic paints and just sort of started working with the paint. Now this is how I paint 90% of the time, I just never did get the hang of using brushes. Here's a couple of my paintings, posted some more on my website.

I actually made birthday cards with my dog by that pile of poo. They read: "I made you something special for your birthday, but didn't know how to ship it."
I was thinking about selling them on E-bay. I actually hollowed the bottom of it out, attached a piece of cloth under it, put it on my head, and called it "The Original DOO-rag". What do you think? Stinks, huh?
One day I'll invent something.

I like the way your mind works. That "bassifier" is off the hook (as they say). I'd love to see the reaction on someones face if they just found that thing laying on the
sidewalk.
You have a great sense of humor.

The paintings, carpentry, stone walls, miniatures, telephone-bird houses, carved computer cases and drawings, all prove that Metal detectorists are very busy people!

I bend pipe once in a while, and glue stuff together. 95 yota--sold now. I once had an art student at school it was a really nice job and geometric. Asked if i was in the welding art class or whatever they call it.
