Can anyone help receantly found 1822 large cent and buffalo and v nickle rinced with water seemed to make them worse then tried putting in olive oil seems like it turned the dirt to concrete and real dark now wish i left them alone just wanted to see the dates please help

Olive oil only works if you have LOTS of time (a year for example), to soak, wipe, repeat another month, wipe, repeat, etc... For the large cent, try ammonia. But practice on worthless cruddy wheaties first, as it can be harsh and leave the coin with a "burnished" appearance, if over-used.. For the buffalo and V-nickel, try naval jelly.
