Hello all

Going on my first chuch sponsored treasure hunt here in libby, mt. Should be interesting.
I have to use my back up detector; Garrett Ace 250, as my good detector a white's XLT is coming back from White's electronics. It had to be repaired because the lcd screen went bad and it had a bad ribbon wire cable and connector and keypad. $126.13 repair bill, oh well. After 18 years of hard use, have to expect that. Ha ha. The hunt is in a field between between two churches. There will be coins, tokens and civil war relics and god knows what else. And probably trash too. Hehe Will let you know how I do. Website for the hunt is: libbynazarene.com

Wow , You don't hear much about Libby Montana on this site -that's where I was born , I just have to ask how is it that a church
sponsors a treasure hunt ?- I would be surprised if you found civil war relics up there (a bit too far north and west I think )
have fun , keep us informed !

The pastor of the church put on the treasure hunt as he is an detectorist himself. Cool dude. They buried civil war relics for us to find and coins too.

Hi all

I forgot to mention that while I was at the hunt I met someone I have not seen in a few years that used to work at the local mill while I was an security guard there. He said he wants me to go check out an island with him in the kootenai river he knows about that has some old cabins on it and that there could be some coin caches around there. Should be interesting. Have to wait until it cools down some and the river goes down some. it's running a little high and hotter than hell right now. heh heh

Found some more stuff tonight at the same area. 2 1905 V nickels, 1 1902 indian head cent that they did not bury because it was down around 3 inches and the ground was not disturned. And 1 8.8 pound axe head and 1 old iron hinge, cool. oh and 1 old trigger of a gun and a 40-60 bullet case. and some wheaties and lincoln memorials. and 1 coin with the number 10 on it and a token with the number 43 on it so I get two more good things from the pastor. Might be old coins or tokens or whatever. DSCF0043.JPG

Well, this morning I found another ax head. And another guy out there found a splitting wedge about 6 inches down. And I found a 1882 indian head cent. The pastor said they planted over 100 indian head cents in the field besides other coins but no silver coins, bummer.
