New member here. I really like bottle digging but it's kind of a drag driving 1.5 hours just to go do it. Was wondering if anyone knows of any that are on land you can dig on in and around the capital region of NY. I'm in Saratoga county. Just send me a messege if you know. I'm willing to exchange information on an old dump location in western NY for a good old 1870s-1890s town dump closer to Saratoga. When I got free time I'm usually down to dig. Good luck all.

Every town had their own dumps….after they were closed some were converted to other uses, like waste water treatment plants; but others remain waiting to be re-discovered.
About every farm and rural house also dumped garbage relatively close to the house, usually along a bank or stream……if you know of an existing or former farm house, there is a dump with bottles waiting for you.
