Artifact curiosity

Id be curious on the thoughts of the forum on purchasing items such as roman bracelets, rings, egyptian scarabs, etc. these can be readily found at artifact shows. Assuming that they are authentic, how do you guys feel about owning an item that once owned to someone thousands of years ago? Obviously they were dug from the ground-the question is where.
Thoughts?

Maybe the best way to think about that is what if some one dug you up 5,000 years from now, took your wedding ring (if you were buried with one), cleaned it up and sold it at a flea market, and how would you feel about it? I probably wouldn't care much at all if it was me. I hunt arrowheads, and do not engage in selling or buying them, but fine for those who do.

How do you feel about collecting autographs? If significant, you surely cherish them as I do any relic or coin I purchase.
Interesting thread...
Peace
