My Detecting Ground Looks Like an Alien Planet

These are some pics of my favorite detecting beach. It has nearly frozen solid and made detecting pretty much impossible (not that this has stopped me from trying )




This is looking North from the bay, the white sheet of ice stretching for miles into the distance is Long Island Sound:

I feel your pain. I can't usually detect from about October to April. And even April can be a tough deal here in Montana.

I couldn't imagine only 5 months of detecting, I'm going insane after only 2 1/2 not detecting, you poor soul lol that sucks

We have slush on the beach, with some of the harbors iced in.

Lol i was expecting big craters of unfilled holes as far as the eye can see.

I guess the tradeoff of old colonial finds kinda evens things out for you frozen-grounders. I also assume you guys use a lot of that winter time to do some very detailed research. Personally, I've never seen frozen ground and I intend to keep it that way.
