Anybody know some good helpful books on these two Pirates. Looking for stuff to do with the East Coast.

Any book by Ed Snow will help you out.Stay away from Captain kidd,its a waste of time.Kidd wasnt active enough or active long enough to make him worthwhile investment of your time.Like Jesse James,he was credited with more than he has done.Any unsolved robbery was given credit to the most likely suspect.

"Pirate Hunter - The True Story of Captain Kidd" by Richard Zacks - but it will dispel much of the Hollywood Pirate aura in your opinion of Kidd. Well written and researched.

Kidd got railroaded by Parliament and took the fall for "placed" investors. But he was an interesting guy none the less.

See if you can locate "Pirates: Fact and Fiction" by David Cordingly. He did research on the pirates of the North Atlantic. Teach ("Blackbeard") & Roberts ("Black Bart") we the most active in our waters. Most pirates operated in the Caribbean or Indian Oceans.

I have a few of his newer older books. These are just two pirates. Some treasure has been found already. Plus their are other ships that carried treasure in his area. You never know what you might come up with or pull from research. I thank you for your knowledge. Everything is helpful. Might take another look at his other books. Thanks

I hear you. I have other books with wrecks up and down the coast in them. Theirs a couple areas that look real interesting. Also Pirate Treasure was found up north in a farmers field ,years back. Like one chest. Someone even found some on the beach . Thanks Charlie for your time.

Well actually there has been only one substantiated find of pirate treasure, the one located on Gardiners Island. All other finds are totally without proof of any kind. One fact that supports my theory revolves around the fact that Mr. Gardiner swore he saw from his Island Quicks sloop exit Oyster (pan) Bay the following AM. Well nobody ever questioned that, even in the face of Oyster Bay not being within visual range of Gardiner Island. So if Gardiner saw the sloop coming out of anywhere, it was definitely NOT from where he said. Also, habits are hard to break, and it makes sense that if those responsible for burying the first (found) cache thought it would be safe where they buried it, then they would pick similar surroundings. Are you on the same page yet?
