Yea, back in '87 I was livin' in Clearwater Beach Fl., when a hurricane blew through.
Being born n raised in Ohio, I/we had no respect for hurricanes. WRONG!
Folks, please take heed, be aware and continually watch radar. Hurricanes will turn and grow fast.
Be safe.
Peace ✌

The low ones are the watchers.
This one sorta scares me a bit... coming in hard and low.

These are the ones to really watch... Tbay Is over due.
We get a 3-5 on board here and it will make Katrina look like childs play...
Been saying it for years...
And every year goes by... this year or next has been my prediction for years when asked...

But... Who asked me right :P
heh
You would be surprised. :)

I have independently studied hurricane patterns for half my life... btw.

You've been really lucky for so long that like you said over due for one to hit. It's been close to 90 yrs since a bad one has hit the area?

Yes... you are correct Pepper.
For the rest of you who do not realize the gravity of what I am talking about...

This may help you "invision" what I mean...
This is a glimpse into it...
This was done by our local guys...

This is an attempt to "prepare" even the newscasters and "you".
Put on your seat belt...

Every storm, I am amazed and amused when the news media interviews surviver Buba who always says, " we stayed ,we always stay, we never saw one so bad. They said it was going to be bad. but it never was this bad before, we almost died." Every time. And it seams every storm people who stay die. Please please pay attention and get out of the way.!!!! They give three days warning, that is very close to on target.

True TH... BUT...
Low and strong is not the "scene" that generally works out in favor for Florida or any Gulf States...

The thing is not to become complacent...
People forget...

People sometimes forget or don't realize the magnitude of destruction that can take place.

Btw... the reason for this thread is to make people begin thinking about a plan IF ANY storm becomes a hurricane ANYWHERE near us or has the potential of entering the Gulf...

We (Tampa Bay) are the most vulnerable ... AND overdue...
Last hit was when this place was a baron desolate unpopulated area... in 1921.

Now we have millions upon millions of residents who have built homes where they should have never been built.
Structures that are no where near code...
And situations that set us up like a bowling pin.

This is the "worst case scenario" track for our area...

My intention is not to freak people out... but to make residents of my area aware that they cannot "just ride it out"...
They must leave and have a plan...
They must be prepared to possibly never return... or at very least make a plan for long term residency away from here...

It took 10 years to pick up the pieces from Andrew...
And that was just primarily wind damage...
Katrina hit is still being fixed and many areas will never be rebuilt upon...
There are complee areas that are still gone.

Here in the Tampa Bay Area we have serious water problems already... without a storm.
But combined with any massive wind water "push" and the conditions are just right for a dead on Bay hit... or slightly north...
Tampa and the surrounding area could be 25 feet underwater.

I cannot just sit back and not tell the truth about this potentially massive catastrophic scenario...
"They" have kept this scenario quiet all these years...
I cannot... and will not... do the same...
As the probability of a storm taking this path rises...
they have now begun to express these concerns to the areas citizens...
now they know they have to inform people of the potential for this...
Which...
Like I have stated before...
Would make Katrina look like childs play if the "perfect storm" makes this track.
The amount of destruction depicted in the video I posted is considered by many "the light version".

Just would like to think that I reached someone through this and saved a life by it...
Instead of regretting it by saying nothing or minimizing it and seeing the loss.
In this type of scenario there is no "minimal"...
Just ask those who lived through a Cat 3 or higher in an "average scenario"... let alone Andrew or Katrina.

Enough said.
Take heed and be prepared for ANY and EVERY storm.
No matter the track... which can change abruptly like Charlie did in our last "round" with mother nature... who I might add... will always win.

Here folks... this will "sum it all up for you"...
This is ONE map/chart I got from NOAA that will make you see where I am going with all of this.

PROJECTED FOR A CAT 4 .... NOT 5.

I still vote for it hitting NJ as a Cat 4.

I have been through many hurricanes and several typhoons. Not saying they are not destructive, just saying I will wait another week before losing any sleep.. Danny is about 5 days from hitting the eastern end of the Leeward Islands when it nears Barbados, there is dry air and high wind shears it has to deal with before that so a lot of variables still to factor in..
