hi have just joined.am in uk.a good place to live when one of your hobbys is metal detecting.am thinking of a holiday in the states would love to do some detecting for gold.would be great.hope to talk to some of you.and would apprecate any advise of what states are best to vist .thanks bill

Alaska or California for natural gold or New Jersey beaches for dropped jewelry. But in Alaska or California most folks who think they are onto a source of gold may not be willing to share, or forgiving of finding a visitor. You certainly are doing the right thing by asking first!
