Mysterious Orange Nugget

it wont break. and sounds metallic, buy i cannot get a polish to it. Found by itself at the bottom of a mountain slope from a stream floodway. What is it??

Bigfoot got it quartzite. Massive quantities around here but mostly pink or red.
