I was doing some xmas shopping online, and one of the ads on the side was the headphone adapter with the quarter inch female. (I swear the internet can read your mind, because I was thinking today of using a different headphone setup, so I would need one of these) Anyway, I checked it out, but the reviews were all over the place.

Has anyone purchased and used this adaptor? What do you think of it?

Thanks

Hello Digger460,

I use the AT Pro/Gold headphone adapter, works well and can use any one of the 1/4" headphones in my arsenal.

Regards,

Doc

I've had the adapter for a good while. Works great, no problems.

I have had these adapters go bad due to pulling. I finally got a pair of Grey Ghost Amphibian Headphones. They are waterproof, very comfortable, and come with a direct connection to the AT PRO.

I bought one of these adapters very early in 2015 to use under the Cancun sun (on the sand) with light weight headphones. IT failed the first time I tested it while packing my bags. The end plug on the cord where it mates to the ATP just let go and came out, I was gentle too. No easy way to solder. I neglected to call Garrett I was just mad. The GGA's are hot there and the surf is too rough (except at the "top of the seven") to easily water hunt.
Think I'll call Garrett today, planning for Cancun again. HH!
Just got off the phone with Mary at Garrett. Explained what happened and they are sending out a NEW one to me! Awesome service Garrett! Thanks !!!

I have used one for years and love them. I can use any set of headphones I like.

I cheated. I got the cheap one for my fisherF2 and used ear buds. I don't have an issue at all with that set up.

This is what my hunting partner did. He seems to like his setup.

Glad to read this post... I'd like to get the ear buds with the hooks, then I can wear a hat more comfortably and also won't have the big headphones slowly slide away...

I have the Garret adapter with the 1/4 to 1/8 adapter from Radio shack for my ear buds. I love this set up. They are comfortable and I can hear what is going on around me. Have used it for a year with no problems.

Relic, how do the deep faint high tones sound? Did you test that?

I have been checking out buds, and the prices are all over the place! I'll eventually find the right one, but I better order the adapters first! Ha

Make sure when you get the 1/4 to 1/8 adapter that it's stereo in and stereo out. I got the wrong one first time and it only worked in one ear.
