Don't know if many people here know what ramps are but we love them here in western VA. Ramps are a type of spring onion/garlic that grows wild in the mountains west of me. Hunting them is as much fun as eating them to a lot of people. We fry them with potatoes, sausage and eggs. Mmm...man they are good! Talked with a buddy today who has been bear hunting near one of our patches and he says they are coming up right now. It's the end of Dec, that's crazy. Hope it doesn't kill them for spring. Heck I might go dig a mess. Never seen a winter like this.

yea everything is mixed up and early. i bet the turkey will be gobbled out way before our season comes in this spring.
Ramps are not a big thing up here in the northern part of the state. but i have had my share from a buddy that lived in Elkins WV.
i swear you can smell them coming out of your skin 3 days after you eat them lol
