I'm having a clean out & came across this jar/bottle/something. It appears to have an indentation on the opening that may serve as a pouring lip???? There are no maker's marks although there are a couple of 'globs' on the underside. One could possibly be just the remnants of a piece of rubbish clay that was accidentally stuck to the base prior to firing. I say this because it is very well stuck & I feel it must have been there at the time of firing. There is also a piece of shiny stone on the underside. It's 9 1/2" high & 4" across the bottom. The opening is 1/2" wide & the outside edge measurement of the opening it's 1 1/2". The swirly mark on the base that you can see just looks like it was made by a piece of grass or straw, I really don't think it has anything to do with any maker's mark. I hope someone here can give me some idea of what it may be, it's approx. age & maybe even a price?????? Thanks everyone.

I think it is an older piece, 50+ years old would be my guess from looking at the bottom, but hard to tell without feeling the weight of it.

SusanMN, I weighed it & it is 1.3kg (2lb 13.85615oz). 7.25" (18.415cm) tall from the base to where it tapers into the top. About 9.25" (23.495cm) tall from the base to the very tip. Diameter 4" (10.16cm).

I don't know, could be old, or could be newer. Pottery without makers mark doesn't brink a lot these days, but nice decorative item
